Radar detector rearview mirror powered
I want to install a radar detector left of the rear view mirror as I have done in many of my other vehicles and tap into the wiring behind the windshield mirror/dashcam shroud. I need to know best way to remove the shroud and the best place to tap for 12V.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Careful with pulling power from that area. I heard that the cameras and sensors could have errors with the power draw from some detectors. I just pulled power from the power under the glove box. No issues

After an exhaustive search I was unable to find a switch activated 12 volts and did not want to run a wire from the trunk so I tapped into the dash cam power plug which is easy to get to in front of the rear view mirror. I mounted the detector just to the left of the large black cover (go on line for pictorials on how to remove) The only down side is you have to remove the plug from the detector when not is use as the power is always on. Works for me.
