I don't know why my update is so far behind, but I just received a notification that OTA Software update 3.3 is available. As mentioned previously, it says you can reinstall the apps, but probably not Apple Music (which is what I use) for "technical reasons" WTF are technical reasons.
I just want down to the car and it shows that it's installing 3.3, it was at 37%, so I wonder if it only continues when the car is on or if it continues while it's off? There was also a checkbox on Update Automatically so I changed it to Only after Confirmation. So I guess I will see what it says/does after the update is done downloading.
Well that sucks. I changed it to "Only after I Confirm" and it just went ahead and started installing it. I wasn't driving anywhere so I just left the car on (not running) in the garage and waited for it to download. I checked on it here and there as it took a very long time. The last I checked it was at about 74% then when I came back it said installing 24%, I had no choice. I let that go until it was about 48% and when I came back, the screen had a new message on it. It said something like Turn the car off and lock the doors, so I did it, the only other choice was skip for now but I'm sure it would keep asking every time I got in the car so I just did it. Now I'm on E333.8-58 and there's a couple of new "buttons" like one for CarPlay and Android Auto but no music apps that I could see and definitely no Apple Music, so I wish I could have kept what I had.
I just got alerted that the update is available for me this morning
Will see if I can stop/pause the update as I listen to Apple Music and dont want to lose it while they figure out a replacement.
Before it installed it, there was a "Skip for now" option, because if you were about to drive somewhere and you start the install, you would have to wait to go somewhere as the car has to be off and locked apparently. But, if you do that, is it going to ask you to install it every time you get in the car or is it something you have to search out to say to install it. I do know that if I want to use Apple Music, I can just go on CarPlay, and it connects to my phone bluetooth and it plays something, but it only says there's 1 song even though you can go to all the songs in the playlist.
Got my update message Thursday. Update was very slow. All in took about 1.5hrs. Finally got the turn off the car to complete message and it completed. The car lost just about every setting. Seat memory, radio favorites, radio EQ settings, ambient lighting pretty much everything. Spent about 30mins getting it all reset best as I can remember. I'm sure on my next drive I'll find something I still need to set.... As for the main thing I wanted fixed which was the damn radio starting playing every time I start the car based on a test of 1 start it seems fixed. If it doesn't change the left side AMG pod settings randomly that's a bonus....
As for what it broke so far all I found was I can no longer move my Sirius Favorites tiles around. They stay fixed in the order I put them in. Not responding to long press like the MBUX tiles do. I'll play with it some more and see if I'm just overlooking something.
