Received the notification last night - very quick download and installation - no differences seen so far

You drove it after the install and checked out the light and any differences? Or are you speaking of the update as an entirety and possible differences?

I drove to work this morning (in the dark) and didn't notice any differences.

Same here. I was hoping it would help with the dark spot on the drivers side but it did not.

"From owner threads (e.g., the exact phrasing in CLE-Class discussions on MBWorld around early 2026), this update targets reliability issues like:
  • Intermittent "adaptive lighting functions limited" or "not available" messages.
  • Delayed activation/response of Adaptive Highbeam Assist.
  • Glitches in cornering lights, auto high-beam switching, or projection stability.
  • General ECU/firmware bugs in the dynamic light control module.
It's a quality/reliability patch—similar to how other modules get OTA tweaks for smoother operation—rather than a regulatory workaround to enable prohibited features. If your CLE53 has DIGITAL LIGHT equipped (common on AMG models, often with projections), you might notice steadier performance in low-traffic night driving (e.g., fewer false deactivations or smoother transitions), but don't expect dramatic new capabilities like full matrix ADB."
