I thought so but needed some confirmation the icon makes sense. Thanks.

You said they showed you the option at the dealership though unless that is a different stock?

While I was in the passenger seat he said you should be able to switch the exhaust and then said oh there it is and kept going. He was on the center screen in system settings like the picture I showed above. I could not find it as soon as I got home. He will be back in the Dealership next week and I will ask him. Not sure what he did.He never showed me the knobs on the steering wheel. It was a bit overwhelming that day when I picked it up.

If that is the case is there anyway to have that programmed in being I am sure it is just a program option?

If not sure check you sticker if do not have that send me your VIN...I work at a MB dealer.
Is option 339 just the engine sound coming through the speakers or does it open the flapper in the exhaust?

The $550 option 339 is AMG Real Performance Sound that I mentioned above. There's at most one exhaust setting, so it would control how much sound you get in the interior. It doesn't say anything about exterior sound. The way noise regulations are going, cars have to be quiet on the outside, so it's very well possible that you can no longer control the exhaust flap manually. Instead if you want controllable exhaust sound to enjoy inside the cabin, you must get option 339. But it isn't really clear at this point if there's supposed to be a manual control of the exhaust flaps.

Will wait for his update on this, since if I am understanding correctly, this is the exact same car that had the feature demonstrated.

The way I understand it is that the soundwave icon is used when there's artificial sound involved such as is the case with the electric sounds that many EVs and PHEVs have. The exhaust icon is used when it's real sound such as when controlling the flaps and making the actual exhaust louder w/o artificial sound. Even AMG Real Performance Sound is real as the name says. It's not fake sound. It's actual sound recorded and played over the car's speak in real-time. Like a live concert if you will.

Makes total sense, I just thought MB replaced the icon with the newer model MBs, I thought it all started since MBUX 2.0. I mean, it is not unusual for car company to redesign symbols, icons, unless it is those in the instrument cluster, mandated by the EPA or something.
