Steering wheel vibration

I heard its a common problem. What did you guys do to get it fixed? Last time the engine mounts were changed, but the problem came back and the mounts are still in good shape. It's to the point where most of the inside of the car is shaking. It even does it in neutral

low tread on tires will cause the steering wheel to shimmy at speed.

my problem was caused by uneven tire ware. Replaced the tires, the problem went away.

im having the same issue and it started after I rotated my tires... only happens at high speeds and only on certain parts of the road...

i suspect it's something to do with uneven tire wear but im curious to know what else it might be....

Vibration issues

I have the same issue...I owned an Infinit G35 before, and you couldn't even tell the car was on....In my CLK430 2002, there is a constant vibration even when idle. I have taken it to the dealer a few times, but still no luck...They changed the engine mount which didn't do anything, and then they did something to the idle, and it got a bit better when is in "D" but in idle still the same...i would be interested to hear if anyone actually got it fixed, and how

2001 E320
I too have the same problem. I have 2001 e320 44k miles. Initially I had little vibration on the staring wheel when I have the car in idle. After I got my oil change it's gotten worst expecially when it is on D. It inconsistance more fluactuates at times. I was wondering if anyoneone have any answer to this. Also when i turn my staring wheel it has little rough (scrathcy) feeling. Any suggestion please!

Thanks!

Ya it did fix it (knock on wood) but it was a while back, i can't find the invoice, i'm going in for service next week, when i do i'll ask my service tech what it was that he replaced. They seemed to know what exactly it was when i brought it in, i went to Walters Mercedes Benz in Riverside, CA.

Well thats pretty weird. When the problem first came up, the guy changed my engine mounts and said that the old ones were torn apart. The problem came back up, and this time he had no clue what the problem was because the engine mounts looked fine (which is why i started this thread). Yesterday he replaced the mounts again, and the drive is incredible now. I can't even feel that its running when I'm stopped and in D. A LOT nicer to drive like this. I didn't pick the car up, but my dad said that he said something about the old mounts being the wrong type or something.

Viabration

My car viabrates too, but i think it has something to do with misfiring due to low voltage....................it causes the car to shake as not all the cylinders are working.

have an 02 e-320 same vibration issues while in d stopped at a light or at any other time. Also had rack and pinion steering motor mounts changed and several other things done. Still have vibration in the steering wheel. Regarding turning the steering wheel, mine made a whining sound at slow speeds (parallell parking etc..). MB replaced steering column and shaft boot, power steering hose, radial seal in control head, p/s gear box, radial shaft sealing ring, and perfromed wheel alignment. Got rid of whine temporarily. Also had crank vibration damper replaced for other issues. STILL HAVE VIBRATION. lol

There's a shock by the tranny housing ... easy part to replace ... corrected my steering wheel vibration ...
