Flip out monitor
This may be a dumb question but can you just add a flipout screen that can play DVD's and TV? I would like to just keep the factory radio but I also want a flipout monitor.

You can do it but it makes no sense, most of the NEW flip out monitors have the dvd, am/fm, navigation, & cd allready built into one unit, so your factory radio would be useless, if you don't like the flip out style why don't you go with the dual din screen, it really looks factorish and nice. Kenwood & Eclipse have some excellent units, somebody on this form has a picture of the Kenwood in their clk and it looks bad ***..
p.s. Alpine made a flip out monitor that was strictly for movies and navigation, it has no dvd, no cd player, and no am/fm capabilities, it was made so you could you use a seperate unit, like what you planning on doing keeping the stock. The model number is ALPINE TME, do a search on ebay or crutchfield, they are selling very cheap.

i had a setup in my old w202 with the flip out 7" widescreen, dvd, nav, 12 disc changer and all that but when i got my w208 i didnt put it in there because i would loose the ability to use my steering wheel buttons. instead i sold all that and had steve retrofit an oem comand in my car. it looks great just like it came from the factory but i def miss the better navigation, better graphics, etc.
