Extended Warranty options

I'm getting there, my manifacture warranty expire on June 6th. So I have do act fast. After few month of thinking I've decided to keep my baby for few more years as I can't really figure out what I want and if I can, I cannot afford it. However, I am kind of scared of owning this car without any kind of breakdown protection, as every little thing on this car cost $1K.

I know this has been discussed million time here, but not reciently so here is my question to ya'll! What warranty I should go with? I'm only @ 27K miles.

Warranty Direct , gave me quote of $ 2,366. For 4y/60K. Priciy.

Anywhere else I should ask?

Oh yeah, and I'm in CA. There seem to be something special about warranties in this state.

On the other note, if someone wants to but it and will give me "an offer I cannot refuse" I might consider it. Here is what you can get.

Call Lisa Lehrbaum at Courtesy Motors (800) 655-3535. More than likely that she can give you a factory Mercedes warranty for around that same price. For a 2000 S430 at 55,000 miles, her warranty was $3590 and it covers nearly everything, including all the electronics and air suspension. 5 years until 100k miles. Your car is newer and less mileage so you should be able to lower price. All other warranty companies found a way to exclude important parts like these.

Does that warranty works as factory warranty. I just bring my car in to dealer and don't have to pay/claim anything?

For that warranty, there's a $100 deductable each time you take it in...probably because a lot of crap is prone to fail on that model. They couldn't offer a warranty without a deductable, but they do have them available. Check and see if they can offer it for your car. I would think you can get it and at a better overall price too. The best thing with going that route is that it covers nearly everything.

The one we got doesn't cover: maintainance, services, items used in services, wear items like manual clutches, brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, belts, glass or plastic lenses, body and paint items including soft trim, snow plows, winches, and trailor hitches. That's it...the full list. I think this is a pretty good/reasonable list of exclusions, especially compared to others.

The easiest thing to do is usually just call back 10-15 mins later if you can't get through the first time. Not sure how often she checks her voicemail, but it took a looong time whenever I left messages.

Just talked to Lisa, she seems prtty nice person.

So what I got from her is this.
3y/60K miles with $0 deductable - $2400
3y/60K miles with $100 deductable - $1900

Very good deal. Now, the $500 question is will I take my car to the dealer more then 5 times in the next 3 years.

Also, I forgot to ask if this warranty includes A/B scheduled services. Does anyone know?

I also got a deal going with Lisa.
DC warranty will not cover A/B services.
Let us know it turns out for you.
Rock On.

mine is starmarked till 100k or 2006. same thing... read the fine print and change your cat before you hit the emissions and exhaust expiration (80k). regardless if you have starmarked or not... they will not replace cat after 80k even after they said they would and scheduled you in for an appt.
