Very Nice...

i would assume these are aftermarket and available in Europe. If we can do some more research and figure out who makes these, maybe we can get a group purchase going. Anyone able to translate the auction and maybe find out the manufacturers name?

The person selling these lights sais he searched for a long time and didn't find any manufacturer to offer these lights for the CLK and thus made his own...he sais that the lights are plug and play (original 208 headlight housings) and that the auto levelling will work as should.
Furthermore he sais that he will soon ofer these lights for halogen equiped cars as well and he mentioned that the lights have not been aproved by any DOT, MOT or TUV...

He offers a 500 euro refund for trade in xenon lights.

So, these are for W208 MBs with xenons already. Well I guess I'll have to wait for the halogen retrofit info. It does look nice though!

If anybody does opts to try, I'm might be willing to buy the OEM xenons if in So. Cali.

I will write it down a second time: it is NOT a COMPANY who made these lights...it is the Ebay seller himself...a private person!!!

I do not understand why there is no compony offerring this type of lights to the W208 line. Why in the first place they made the projectors for the E-class W210 ,and not for W208 ? .Eventhugh, the W208 line in need for this upgrade , because it looks more agrasive , and sporty than the E-class!

greetingz,
I thought it only took one person to be a company.. Maybe thats just how we do it in the states.. I dont care if its 1 person or 10 people. If we have 20 members willing to fork over cash for the same product at the same time he/him/they should come down on the price some. If not, I could live without them especially for 2k euros...

even if he were to make enough for a group buy (5+people)... it would take a long time for him to finish. I have no doubts that this guy spent some time on it, otherwise he would charge less

The translation would be "almost" this:

Here you offer on a so far not yet dagewesene world novelty at clear glass headlights for the Mercedes CLK class type W208. There were these headlights to buy so far nirgendswo in the whole world, but there are finally which now. I for months investigated and me everywhere informed whether it such headlights give or will ever give. I got in each case the sad report that it none give and will probably also never give. For the Mercedes e-class these headlights are very often offered to W210. Like you in the pictures to see are these headlights from the appearance can the absolute hammer, there can one the old Design any longer look at itself. These headlights make the complete car younger... became also times time!!! Which I you offer am two CLK xenon headlights with clear glass optics to outside in each case main headlights here. Both headlights, on the right of and left, can be inserted problem-free, since the housing is the original housing of the CLK headlight. Also the vertical adjustment for the headlights functions perfectly. A small fine additive at the whole thing is the Bi-xenon-technology, which in the clear is called, with these two headlights has also you Bi-Xenonlich in your vehicle!!! As explanation: Bi-xenon meant that the headlight low beam when switching on of the high beam on apart from the normal high beam also the long range headlight becomes. It brings you at night an unbelievable bright light. I will offer these headlights shortly also still for normal headlights without xenon, will become this then exactly the same to look outward. The assembly of the headlights is completely simply... old headlights develops, new purely, completely!!! And now NOTE: Shouldn't your xenon headlights be still ok and not need you these any more, then you dispatch these to me simply and I transfer to you after control of the lamps again 500? back. TUEV or appraisal for these headlights does not give it unfortunately. If you these headlights block are it the exclusive risk!!! I do not take over any adhesion, no guarantee and also no cancelling of the headlights. I can to you only insure that it perfectly function and after correct attitude also nobody in the traffic dazzle.

I have decided to make projector headlights for the W208. I will let you guys know when I'm done. I've done many headlight mods in the past and this shouldn't be too difficult. I have talked to a tech at mercedes and am waiting for him to locate a w210 headlight for me to play around with.

Havent received a headlight to play with yet. Dont expect me to be done quick either because I work full time and go to school full time, but once I get all the parts I need I should be done within a month. I dont think I will be able to get the autoleveling in but I might be able to do bixenon (of course these would be much more expensive to make).

I would like to change only the glass and use the original xenon lights I have. Do you think it is possible? How is our light behind the glass?

Are home-made driving lights street legal? I would be afraid of the potential liability of faulty lamps. Driving lights are an important safety equipment, and without proper "R&D" I wouldn't be that foolish to use them.

I think someone on these forums made something similar to these. I'm not 100% sure the guy was from here, but I know I've seen something similar. If I recall correctly, he essentially put the internals from a set of CL projectors into the CLK headlight housing. It looks like this guy might have done something similar, as the projector assembly looks similar to those found on the CL's.
