CLK430 - Whose the better upgrade? Kleeman or Renntech?
kleemann has a bunch of stuff for the 55's but also the 430's, chk this out:
KLEEMANN Kompressor System V6 & V8
Low boost - Incredible power output
The KLEEMANN twin-screw kompressor system for V6 and V8 engines is the very essence of the KLEEMANN slogan "Comfort Power." High power output combined with a low boost pressure of just 0.5 bar makes the system safe and provides long-term durability for the engine.
The KLEEMANN Kompressor System is a Lysholm type twin-screw, positive displacement Kompressor with an integrated air-to-water intercooler and is the only known system to combine the intake manifold, kompressor and intercooler into one integral unit. The intercooler is such a superior design that it holds its own patent.
The system design was chosen because of its ability to develop boost at very low engine revs, and to maintain that boost consistently throughout the rev range until maximum engine revs is reached. As a result the engine has a characteristic smooth power band with no peaks or valleys - just immediate power on demand without any hesitation.
For nearly two decades KLEEMANN has manufactured kompressor systems exclusively for Mercedes-Benz engines. Since the beginning KLEEMANN has continually improved on its original design to offer the most efficient, powerful, and safe engine tuning solution. Today intensive research and development as well as the use of cutting-edge technology has turned KLEEMANN into the world leader in kompressor solutions for Mercedes-Benz.
The efficiency of the KLEEMANN Kompressor System is obvious. Mounted on top of a 5.0 litre normally aspirated V8-engine, it immediately enhances the engine's power output from standard 306 Hp and 460 Nm to 506 Hp and 675 Nm, without any need for further modifications to the engine.
KLEEMANN Kompressor Systems are CARB and TÜV approved and are available for all models (1997- ) with normally aspirated (NA) V6 and V8-engine.

I have had only one issue associated with the Kleemann setup. The supercharger systems' water pump has been replaced twice. First time by pros (MB Autowerks), second time by me (and I'm no pro-mechanic - it wasn't that hard though). If you are planning to get a new Kleemann system installed on your car, the issue that caused my water pump failure has since been resolved by Kleemann by replacing the mechanical water pump with an electric unit. The re-design also makes it easier to change the drive belt in that with the older design water pump you have to remove the supercharger's water pump to change the belt. No longer the case with new design.
Other than the water pump issue the Kleemann system has been BULLETPROOF. I drive my car EVERY DAY all-year whether its to and from work, around the corner for cigarettes or to New York. Where I live the summer temps can get into the high 90's and it's cold as ***t in winter. Half the time I'm a granny behind the wheel - but there hasn't been a single time that I've pressed the go pedal that I haven't been impressed that all that power is right there, on demand, in a car that otherwise feels and sounds (except for Kleemann exhaust) stock. It pulls like a motorcycle.
As with any extensive mod - one of the drawbacks is that your local MB dealer probably won't want to fool with your car if the issue relates in any way to the modified aspect. If you spend big bucks on an extensive mod like a s/c - unless you have confidence in its long term reliability, every time you fire it up you will worry whether you are that much closer to having to shell out bucks to pay the pros who know how to fix your particular system and who might not be that conveniently located.
You might also check some of the threads relating to warranties offered for whatever system you end up going with.
Good luck man - it's nice to have choices.
