Paint code
Where is the paint code located on a CLK? I'm thinking about ordering the prepainted body color replacements for the orange reflectors on the sides of the front bumper of my '01 55, and want to make sure I get the right black. Also, I am correct that the stock pieces are just reflectors and don't light up, right (don't want to lose turn signals or something)? Thanks.

Oh, by the way. You can not use the car paint to paint that orange reflector because then you can't see the light when turn. There are special aftermarket paint for that.

The paint code can be found on the door jamb label as well as some labels under the hood. Once the lenses are painted, you will not have much light (if any at all) that will pass through the reflector.
Some people have used a "Smoke" type paint that is translucent. In this scenario, light will pass through the Smoked lenses.
I have a set from EvoSport and am very pleased with the fit and finish ! EvoSport starts with Mercedes Original Eqip. lenses and finishes them with Factory OE paint. Again, not much light will come through when painted this way, however, it looks very nice.
