Command Unit-Navigation
Hey guys..I have a 2001 CLK 430 with the Command Unit. Last week when I was using the navigation, it couldn't give me the right directions.(I was trying to demonstrate to my coworker how it works)Anyhow, I looked at my current location and for some reason, its saying that I am located in a city 80mi from where I was..I tried to put in my location manually and it will work for a while and after that, it gets lost again..Is this not supposed to be a "GPS based" navigation? I know it says on the owners manual that the GPS is not always accessible. But if you drive for a couple of yards, it should update and is teleaid related to the NAVI?..Also, dealer replaced my Command Unit with a new one last month and it was working fine..I also realized that my AM does not work..what the? Whats the purpose of that antenna on top of the car..I've seen other CLK's without Command and they still have that..(TeleAid or GPS for NAVI?) Lastly...will the NAVI only work if you have a subscription to TeleAid?
I'd appreciate any help from you guys
..Thanks--Rocko(Mercedes..Unlike Any Other)LOL

Did you change the wheels on the car? On the S-class navi, in the calibration section, you have to put in your tire size...maybe that's related to it? It says you recalibrate when you get new tires too...but new tires would be a very small change compared to diff wheels. The antenna on the back of the car is for TeleAid. You don't need a subscription to TeleAid for your NAVI to work.
