TVR Cerbera 4.2 & Mercedes CLK 320
CLK 320 engine/transmission/software fault
Was driving the wife's CLK 320 the other day. An opportunity arose to overtake a queue of three cars, so I floored the accelerator and pulled out. It dropped down a couple of gears and went. Alarmingly (since it was a single carriageway road), when it got to around 6,000 rpm it just bounced off the limiter without changing up. Flicked it up and down a bit with the tiptronic but to no avail.
Afterwards there was no power whatsoever -- struggled to get up to 40 mph! So I pulled over and at idle it was apparent that it was now running on <6 cylinders. Switched off and on again and all was fine.
Any ideas? There were no fault lights or messages.
