a bit OT but its a coupe...what do you guys think of the infiniti g35 coupe?
"Overall I think this car is an excellent value for the money. The one that I tested was listed at $32,600.- and in my mind was worth it. I do need to go back and try it again to get to the "wow factor" of this engine."

Looks like the Nissan 350z. I still don't know what I think of it.....not really my style, but it is still a nice looking car.
I hope to get my wife to test drive one of the G35 sedans. She's from Stuttgart and doesn't care for Japanese cars. The C-class is too small and she looked at the E320/E430 last weekend and decided she didn't want a leftover where she can't choose colors/options. She wants to look at a VW passat now, but I refuse to let her buy a front-wheel-drive, so I'm hoping she'll like the G35. Just hope it's not too small.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
It IS a Nissan 350Z. Magazines seem to be going out of their way to say that it is a stretched version of the 350Z with a back seat.
Nissan/Infiniti needs to bring the R34 over here....that is one of my favorite cars. You guys ever seen the Gloria sedan? That is another cool one that they never brought over the pond.
Hehe....I can't believe I didn't realise that.

"So now, almost a decade later, the Z is back. It's pumped. It's buff. It's The Matrix's Neo after he packs up and reloads to rescue Morpheus from the agents' grasp. The 350Z is here to kick Porsche and BMW tail."
(NOTE: MB is not on the KICK TAIL list)
...and all this for fractional cost!!

PS There is a rendering of the 2005 C6 vette in the new Road and Track, the rag top looks very nice, just hope the build quality and materials finally equal the nice design.

There are a ton of G35's on the road here on Long Island. I see one almost every day when driving. It does look like a nice car, although the front of it is a little generic looking for my taste. For comparable money, I'd rather drive an A4.
the G35/skyline is the best bang for the buck japanese car right now.
350Z and the G35/skyline uses the same platform, so it is no surprise that it will look similiar. the G35 coupe is going to be one mean performance machine.
btw Brian_R170, the Passat W8 is really nice and it has the 4motion awd option.
Thanks for the link Karl. The new Z is on the cover of the new Car and Driver for August...the article is very positive. The car tested was fully equipped with the top of the line "track package" for 34k!!

My 2001 C5 was great for a few months and 5,000 miles, when I traded first for an 2002 SL500 (no good - too many defects!) then for the CLK 55 AMG. Best car I've owned among 20 so far.
Unless the Vette changes its design as a bottom feeder, I'll never consider it again here in S. Florida. When normal operating temps are 220-230 F, and the transmission is so hot that you feel it with your right leg, and everything melts in the armrest storage space - then no matter how beautiful and how great the performance and handling, - it's NOT for me.
Another neg. was the Vette oil consumption: 1 qt. every 1,500 miles!!
What a relief it was, not to have to add additional oil into the 55 AMG engine till the 10,000 mile A service... and that car runs cooooool!
...but, I'll get the magazine and drool over the 2005 Vette - like a fool!
Tnx RJC for the lead re the 2005 C6 Vette in the new Road and Track article.

I had a new 99 corvette convertible silver/black with almost every option incld the performance axle for the auto tranny. The car was very very quick and looked great but I had rattles and an exhuast boom in the cabin while at cruise speed on I-95 that made me crazy. The car lasted about two weeks and it was traded for my 2nd clk an '00 430.
FYI the oil consumption in the vette was due to ring flutter at certian engine speeds and is being corrected as a running change. I too hope the new vette is more than just a pretty face as they are truly a blast to drive. If they could only get Honda to buid it
