Hey guys just got my pads from MB. Does anyone know how to tell if they sent me the right ones. Maybe a part number or some other way of telling they sent me #1's

identifying spring pads

you can identify the correct spring pad by counting the nipples on the spring pad...i.e. one nipple corresponds to a #1, 5 nipples corresponds to #5, etc.

00 clk 320 and 3 hondas. Darn I am down to 4 cars.
Hey. I have had Eibach lowering springs for my CLK in a box for weeks, but I am hesitant to install them because I don't want a harsh ride. How do you compare the Eibach springs to the stock ones when it comes to ride quality?
Thanks in advance.
George

Hey guys thank you so much for the info. Im thinking about renting a spring compressor and doing it my self without taking everything apart. Has any one done this. Oh well if not ill tell you how it goes.

definately cant rent a regular spring compress you will need the klann plate type mercedes only compressor. The regular one wouldnt fit between the control arm and stuff no room. Thres a procedure somewhere to do it with floor jack and just removing the control arm bolts. I put all my suspension in without having a compressor.

I have a 2000 cab. I want to lower the car. I use Vogtland springs, however, they only have springs for the coupe. Does Eibach offer a spring set for the cab? If I use the coupe springs and then use the pads, the spring rate will be calculated lighter for the weight of the coupe. I probably will cut the stock rears one coil or more then re-install. If I need to raise the rear I can add/change a pad. I believe the #1 pad is 5mm. The #5 pad might be 25mm(????). If someone (the more the merrier) has a set of springs un-installed or new, please post the "free height' of an Eibach or H&R (free height is the length of the spring "in the box" before install.) Specify inched or milimeters. I viewed Linghs tutorial on installing springs. It looks tricky on the install routine but it seems OK. Does one do the same for the rear install? If you slightly pre-compressed the the spring for re-install would that make it easier?
Next, does anyone have the MB factory OEM P/N for the 18x8 and 18x9 inch silver MonoblocII (SL wheel)? They are a five wide spoke OR 5 hole wheel; not a "turbine" look. They are the 88AMG210 sold on Tirerack.

Wallstreet, look at the pix above. I made the mistake on using spring from a coup on a cab. The results are the rear is lower witch turns out that i think it looks cool. The rear of a cab is heavier so that is why the coupe spring are lower. #1 spring pads are recomended in the front to give the vehicle a more even look. The pictures above, show a #3 in front and ill post the #1's installed when i get a chance. Good luck and i hope this helps.
