just want to find out does the power windows auto go up automatically or do we have to continuously press to get it up.....but the power windows would automatically come down....is that normal....btw is a 1999 clk

For U.S.spec cars, the 1999 CLK320 and CLK430 only had one touch express down.

This changed for model year 2000 cars, when the one touch express up/down became standard.

no wonder my friend's car behaved this way cause mine went up and down automatically....any chance to reprogram it or changed the power windows module?

hmm my passengers auto goes up down.. my drivers only does auto down.. auto up is broke?

The buttons in my '98 CLK 200 w208 (cheapest at the time) go first click- normal, second click express down and first click- normal and second click express way up.
This car was made for the home market, I imported it from Germany.
The latest w208 even had an automatic ½" go down when opening the door and go up again when shutting the door.
I'm looking for a diagram to make it myself.

I have a 99 CLK and it has both express up and down.

Odd...Str8ridin and I have 99's and we only have express down. It clicks like there should be express up or something but it's not there. Please also trust that I know all about resyncing and things like that. Chappy's right. You can find that information straight from MB.

this may have been a running change in the production during MY99 ~ MY00 -maybe they only had express-down to start with and then it changed to both up & down express function during the model year.

For the folks with the MY00 cars, it might be a problem with the switch panel - the entire cluster of switches (windows, mirrors, trunk release, rear sunshade (if equipped) and cabrio top) are one single unit that separates from the wood trim panel for replacement.

I had an intermittent failure of the drivers express up and warranty covered the switch cluster replacement (I had many issues with the P/W system and now all the stuff works after lots of modules, regulators, and p/w motors).
