When I was getting my CLK front bumper quote..the body shop quoted me $70 for this piece. He was surprised it had dropped so low. This is a body shop that does all the work for 2 of our local MB dealers.

I got one for sale. OEM Brilliant Silver finish. 50 bucks takes it or 65 shipped. Also have the front bumper impact strip in the same color for 40 or 55 shipped if anyone wants it.

installation of front bumper insert

How easy/difficult is it to install this front bumper insert? Do I have to go to the dealer to have it done? I'm pretty mechanically inclined...

It's very easy, just snap it in place. That's the reason they come out so easy. Unless the brackets that hold it in place are broke.
