How to: Glass fog light covers

I purchased both glass fog light covers for my girlfriends 01 CLK from the MB dealer for $21.00 each, so my question is: How easy are they to install? I read somewhere that it's held in place by three 8mm phillip head screws.

if your fog lights are like mine (european, not round) installation is VERY simple, - only 3 or 4 clips

YES, Just like yours; they are european, so are the clips on the outside of the lower bumper or behind the lower bumper?

Note: I'm talking about the fog lights ( the lights closest to the ground) not the brights.

US CLK55 AMG Fog Light Covers?

My 2001 CLK 55 fog lights look pitted and foggy. Are there covers for these or is it a full replacement? If a cover exists , do you have to take off the bumper to install? Thanks.

I replaced my driver side once. It wasn't the easiest thing. I got under the car and removed the roughly 8"x8" (not necessarily square) "dirt shield". It's held on by at least four screws. Removing that you can peak into where the fog light assembly is. I don't remember how I got the assembly loose, but the actual lens is held on with a 2-3 metal clips. There might be a way to drop the front bumper so you don't have to get underneath.

no taking off bumper is needed! u must unscrew 2 screws, disconnect wires and take off your fog light- very simple, then u'll see 3 clips holding the lens- that's it
