Question The new guy... install question

I hope you don't mind me making my first post a question. I've never registered/posted because I've never had anything of value to add to the forum. I just picked up a CLK a couple months ago on the advise of the medic who pulled me from my old pontiac (His words: You should have died, next time buy a Mercedes). ... "OK".

I was wondering if you have any pointers on removing the hat shelf of the 99 CLK430. I've got to get rid of the Bose system and after 2 hours of frustration last night, I had to give up before I broke something. I simply could not figure out how that comes apart! Do I need to remove the headrest units first? Seats? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. While I'm doing this project, I'm taking photos of every step so I can later post a how-to for complete system replacement. If you're interested, here's what I'm installing (all parts sitting in my living room floor - just taking it slow so I don't screw it up):

Eclipse 8445
Diamond Audio D6 600.4
Diamond Audio D6 1000.1
Diamond Audio D3 6-1/2" components (rear fill only)
Diamond Audio S600s HEX (6-1/2") in front
Diamond Audio D912D2 (Newest TDX Series 12" in the DA designed enclosure)
Running 0 Gauge w/1f cap
All wiring/connections are highest end StreetWires
Dynamat (of course) through all key points, doors and entire trunk

I'm really focused on sound quality vs. 'loud boom'. I was toying with the idea of installing the amps under a false floor, but due to cooling issues, I'm considering other options. I just want things as hidden as possible. I will be modding the med kit so it's a vent to allow sound passage. I'm considering doing the same thing behind the fold down rear center armrest. So, if anyone has any pointers on removing the hat shelf, or suggestions in general, again, I'd appreciate it.

Take care everyone!

My $.02 you don't need to remove the whole thing. Just remove the stock rear deck speakers, leave it open and it will add enough. Try it / And P.M. me all the link to the install!
