From what I can see in the pictures, its missing multi contour seats. It might have the rain-sensing wiper, but I can’t tell from those pictures. I have seen 2001 CLK 55s sell for around 26K, granted not with that low mileage, but I would still go for a 55 even if it had 65K miles.

really?..hmm....I just don't see enough 55's around for sale...plus it is for my wife and the only reason we are getting the V8 is that I will be driving it once in awhile when we bomb a trip to LA, Vegas or San Diego {we are in phoenix}

is the 55 "that" great?....I see the supercharger and my nuts like it but think the supercharger would be an expensive liability with only my wife driving it....she babies her cars....I am a little different.

Thanks...more IMO's!!!!!..

for these long trips a 430 would do just fine, I have even gotten 32mpg in my 430 at a constant 52mph (but this only happened because I was stuck behind a long line of traffic for 2 hours, normally I would do double this speed )

CLK55s did not come with superchargers, but they could always be put in

AMG
Test drive both the 430 and 55 before making your decision.

haters crazy
55 is a totally different beast (in terms of driving). I regret not buying a 55 instead of a 430, dont make the same mistake!

while I have never driven a CLK... I would assume the differences between the standard MLs and the ML55 would apply here as well... if it is for your wife the 55 might be a little more sporty then she cares to have. The power may go unnoticed as she probably wont drive it like one of us would. If you plan on driving it a fair amount and think the extra HP and sportier handling and suspension would be beneficial to you, then by all means go for it.

Im in a similar situation now looking to pick up a CLK for myself and give my ML55 to my mother. I am finding that I may have to purchase a set of tires for her to use because the summer tires on the 18" AMG wheels is too rough for her. She prefers the ride of the snow tires mounted on the 17" wheels I have.
