I have a CLK430 Cab and I notice that in the lower air dam part there should be a strip in the middle between the fog lights and it is missing. Is this piece easy to have come off or could this have been damage from a car wash or something?

I need to call the dealer to see if I can get this replaced, hopefully I don't need the entire bumper.

Has this happened to anyone else, is it expensive, is there an alternative to the strip (meshing)?

I have lost mine as well and purchased one from the dealer, which had to be painted to match the car. Price was around $250.00 or so. You may be able to find them cheaper on the Internet or eBay. Note that they should be secured to the car with ties or other means as they can easily fall off. Good luck.

Yes...you can find them on Ebay (painted brilliant silver)--I saw one for as cheap as $75, but it turned out that my bumper cover was cracked under the bottom, so I need the entire setup now....Ebay bumpers are as expensive as my dealer!! Good luck!

Keep watching ebay...they are always on there for around $400. You can get anything directly from http://www.jjbumpers.com/. they are on ebay alot and actually are less when they post there. There user name is jjbumpers. The missing piece sells usually for about $100 on ebay. Keep watching
