Radar Detector

I'm planning on puchasing a Radar detector. Can anyone recommend a good one. Also I would like to hardwire it, does anyone have any recommendations on where to put it and what to wire it to?

I have a BEL 980, and it works great. It has vocal alerts which get your attention better than just beeps. The Beeps in this model are also louder than most. (Can you tell I play my stereo while driving?) $239 several months ago (may be less now.)

Valentine 1 is way too BIG and EXPENSIVE, IMO. Also looked at Passport 8500 before buying the BEL. These are regarded as the top three rated models at present.
