I finally experienced the "blown # 9 fuse" today as I was detailing my car I tried to move the seat forward and backwards and nothing. Replaced the fuse and it blew again after moving it back and fourth a couple times. Replaced it AGAIN and this time I hope it doesn't blow on me ..But I've been having this OTHER problem as where I lift the handle up and the seat doesn't recline forward, I have to do this little trick/move for it to work and only I can do it right..everyone else that has tried failed and I dont want to continue doing the "trick" everytime I have passengers makes my car look/feel like a POS..has anyone had this problem?

I have the same problem. Check your fuses in the trunk #8 and 9, I think.
Just wondering if anybody suffered from their electric seats failing?
I just tilted my passenger seat forward to let someone into the rear and the base didn’t return to its original position.
The seat rake works but the forward\back position is locked into position.
If I press the button to move it back I can hear a 'click' which sounds like the relay activating, so I guess power is getting to it.
Any ideas?? Help!!!

Another fuse popped...going on my fourth fuse. I'm getting tired of this car seriously I've been giving some thoughts about getting rid of it and not because of this only problem.

Its the slow *** motor giving out and when it doesn't feel like it can move anymore the fuse pops. So probably replacing the motor on the seat would be my problem and after that I could really consider selling it.

Symptom: Drivers seat (RHD) functions all worked apart from forward/backwards.
Yup, same here, thanks to this Forum. Thinking how much is this going to cost !! Fuse box located under the floor, back, right-hand side of the boot (trunk) Fuse number 9 (25amp) had surely blown.

Both my drivers and passengers front seats are not moving forward or aft. Started with the passenger, now the drivers side - it's been too dam cold for me to take the seats out.
This makes me wish that I had manual seats from my old Camaro!!!
Question about the new part - the motor: Is it the exact same part? If so, aren't we simply replacing the old *****ty part with the same *****ty part which will eventually do the same thing? Or is it a better motor (different part #)?
Can someone who has done this verify the two part numbers on the old and new part?

Just use a hammer
Here's a temporary fix that I have been using lately for the stuck seats...
If the seat is not sliding forward or back, after verifying that it is not the fuse in the trunk and if you are getting the clicking noise when you hit the switch, just take a hammer and tap the motor under the seat (the one furthest forward) and it will get the motor unseized.
I hear the motor is not that expensive, but I rarely move the seat anyways, so I haven't gotten around to replacing the motor. Every couple of months, my seat gets stuck and I just tap the motor with a hammer and its good again for awhile.
Here's an earlier thread I posted, in case you guys need further reference.

CLK 230 KOMPRESSOR
10 Fuses already consumed to date!
Sorry to resurrect an old thread guys. Its better than starting a new one.
Every time I access or load a passengers to the back seat, by pulling up the front passenger seat's plastic lever on the side to tilt it forward, the seat's forward/backward fuse blows up. I have to replace the fuse in the trunk fuse box (already using a 20amp valued fuse) to move the front passenger seat forward and backward again. This happens EVERY SINGLE TIME with no fail :surrender:
I gave up and just bring a lot of fuses in the glove box just to be sure.
I'm afraid to try a HIGHER VALUED FUSE because I might burn the forward/backward seat motor does the "hammer time" thing work as mentioned in one of the posts on this thread? You see, we do not have many MB parts on this side of the pond hence I'm staying away from an ebay purchase and looking for some cheaper solution in the mean time
Any information will be a great help.

From my experience and most of the "fixed" solutions...it's a bad motor. While it still works, get it into a position that you can remove the 4 bolts that hold down the seat. It's an easy motor replacement at that point. If the motor totally goes, you will not be able to get to the 4 seat bolts and you will be working very hard on your back and belly to get to the screws that hold the motor in place. I had to remove the back motor to gain access to the middle motor (which is the culprit).
