How to adjust CLK conv. drivers window?

The driver’s side front window on my ’01 CLK430 convertible sticks out too far from the A-pillar and top weather strips.

Besides rain getting in, there is annoying wind noise. Is there some adjustment for the glass I can make? If I press on the top of the glass while closing the door from the outside I can get it to seat properly before the window shuts all the way.

I'm having the same exact problem with my 99 convertible. Is this just a design flaw and no one has a solution?

I have a 2000 430 and sometimes my passenger window doesn't seat properly. my moms was in the car with me one time and the passenger window had that familiar whistling sound (highway speeds). She asked me to roll up the window. Since it was already all the way up, I rolled the window down half-way and rolled it back up and it seated properly, whistling sound was gone.
That being said, you probably need to figure out WHEN this is happening.
1) Are you already in the car, roll the window down and roll it back up?
(if so, there may be something going on with the weatherstripping on the rear window)
2) Does it happen only after you've put the top back up? (if so, your weatherstripping on the soft top may be warped.)

Your pictures didn't come thru on this site. Can you re-post em?

Found this in another post but haven't tried it yet:

I'm new to this, but thought I might be able to help. My 1998 CLK320 had the same problem with the windows rolling up too high. When the door was shut, it would catch on the rubber strip at the top, and leave a gap down the side of the window. I phoned the stealer, and they advised that an adjustment would be about £120! What I found out is that if you open the door, roll down the window to the bottom, and then lie down underneath the door you will see some rubber plugs. Take these out, and then look up inside these holes, and you will see some star shaped bolts. These are the stops for the window regulator, and are adjustable. You will need a female Torx socket of the appropriate size. To make the window stop a little lower, turn the two adjusters (front and rear of window) a quarter of a turn clockwise each (or more as required), and then check the alignment. Ajust them up or down as appropriate, and check the alignment by winding up the window and shutting the door. Don't forget those seals do need to keep the weather out! When you have got the adjustment right, replace the rubber plugs, and then sit in the car, and wind the windows up by holding the switch at the first position (not one touch up), then hold in the 1st position for about 5 seconds. They should then function correctly, and you shouldn't have to slam the doors!!! It worked on mine!

Hope this helps.

My passenger window has the same problem. I just roll the window down 1/4 inch until the door is closed then roll it back up. This worked for me.

2000 CLK430 COUPE
Thanks numba41! Couldn't find my T-30 TORX socket so i used a 3/16 inch 6-point socket, 1/2 turn clockwise on each screw did the trick. No more door slamming.
