Haha, FrankW the pessimist.
This is Ian, aka Ando, aka Newbie, depending on where you know me from.
I just started college at Fordham University today, and (despite the millions of people who asked...) there is no way I would have brought the car to the Bronx. The ridiculous insurance, horrible roads, crime, and very little opportunity to drive just makes it too impractical.
I sold the car to Jeff at the very last minute (the day before I left), because I didn't have room to store it at the house and wanted to get it off my hands quickly. Jeff matched a dealer's offer, and since he's a good friend it was no question who should get the car.
Any questions- email Jeff, he's the owner now.

good thing u didn't ship the car there. the driving conditions are horrible anyway, and there is also the snowy winter you'll have to worry about if you brought you car there.
anyway, good luck to your friend selling the car.

Not enough! Mostly between $30-$35K.
They're dirt cheap in So. Cal- everyone's getting rid of 'em, and the dealers have their pick of mint, stock CLKs at auctions. A daily driven, much loved and somewhat customized car like my own isn't nearly as attractive to dealers.

In So Cal you're not cool unless you have the newest car out there, and the 208 doesn't cut it anymore.
Also, with the economy the way it is, the luxury car market has slumped badly.

you'd be suprised how much I make off the "industry"
enough for me to have a SL 600, and a CL 55 on order.
