Wheel alignment

Took the car to Sears and had Michelins put on and also to check/align the wheels. They could do the TITO but said I would have to take the car to dealer for the rest of the alignment; they don't have the right tools to do the camber. No charge for the TITO.
Is it true that only dealer can do caster/camber?

I called around to a couple of places, and they told me they could only do part of the alignment. Finally I found a Merchants Tire in Towson who said they could do the whole thing. I told them most places said they couldnt do it, and they said they got a new machine and could do high end cars now. Im not sure what shops are out in CA, but apparently the dealer isnt the only place that can do alignments, thank god!!

Another Marylander!
Merchant's...gawd I hate them . But I was forced to use them to change my two rear tires last week. $51 to do balancing and mounting ($23 ea. + tax)?! I guess they whacked me because I didn't get the tires from them but what they (everybody) are charging these days for tire mounting and balancing is approaching criminal! There are other places charging as much as $40 per tire depending on size. Even Pat Goss (Goss's Garage in Lanham MD) is charging $36 per tire. I guess he's working off of his popularity!

Take it to an alignment center or a body/collision repair shop that has a computerized 4-wheel alignment rack/machine, and get a 4-wheel alignment done.
