guys & gals, do you think the W208 has what it takes to be a classic? just like the W124 & W140? my gf said yes coz it still looks unique as compared with the newer ones..but thats her opinion..what do you guys think?

 

I think so, I just hate how the w208's hit ground zero on prices.

 

All classics went down to rock bottom prices at some point. The one thing I dont think it has that is part of a classic in the making is an iconic position in the modern car world. However, it does have the hidden jewel appeal going for it since it has for the most part been overshadowed by the 3 Series Ci line in the public eye. If it does become a classic, it will be in the same group as the C43, ie. only the AMGs will make it.

 

as time passes and newer models come out, i still like the way the w208 looks!

to me, it has a classic beauty. one of the main reasons i bought it.

 

It definately will. Even when I buy a new car I wont trade her in. I still remember the first day I saw one I had to have one. The curves on the w208 clk cant be beat its umistakeable on the road unlike anything else. I got more compliments on this car than any other that I have owned. Any car that makes you go outside and look at it after years of ownership and being on the road is destined to be a classic. One of the most beautiful cars on the road to this day. Dont sell yours unless you need to it may fall into the wrong hands and become a rocket lol

 

couldn't of said it better myself. The w208 is most certainly a hidden jewel amongst the past line ups of mercedes benz models. I will never get tired of its look and some times find myself just staring at the rear quarter panels of my clk, lol. But in my eyes its deff a classic, not to mention that the amg models are being concidered limited since they only have around 800 models of the 2002 est to be left in working egistance. I'm sure the number varries among the years of production but the fact remains all amg w208's are limited classic mercedes.

 

I think it is definately a classic. If you keep it clean, people who don't know any better think its a brand new Mercedes. To this day, I prefer the old design W208 to the new W209.....I dont think that will ever change. Classic.
