There is an interesting thread "CLK and E55 Performance Tip" in the performance upgrades & tuning section about lining the airbox with a heat shield. There is IMO a noticable decrease in performance when the engine is hot so I planned on doing it just for the theoretical results and since it is so inexpensive but just haven't had the time.
