Plus it retains the car's True Class.

i'm thinking of getting the race exhaust myself and i have a question for those who already have it:
How much do you hear it inside the cabin?
I know some ricer cars with loud exhaust, and it is too loud inside the car. not pleasant at all. I know i'm comparing a Honda vs. Benz.... but noise is noise.
Petie (or others)? can you shed some light on this....

BroadSt Bully,
As far as the race exhaust, its nowhere near what the ricers put on their cars as far as tone volume. the only time that i think that someone inside the cabin would consider the tone maybe too much is between about 1900-2200 rpm, where it does reverbrate a bit. i personally dont mind it at all, but if you are going up a hill at a constant RPM in that range, you hear a good amount of exhaust noise, but like i said, maybe half the amount of noise as the free flow ricers with no cats have.....maybe someone else can help me explain better.....

So I just wonder will that still be legal or can race exhaust still pass aircare?

i definitely woudlnt consider it loud enough to attrach the attention of the cops. its definitely not stock, everyone will notice the rumble, but it is also not obnoxious enough for cops to get annoyed, IMHO. when i was having the exhaust installed, i cranked up the car while the muffler was off completely, just out of curiousity, and yeah it sounded horrible, loud, but just a dirty sound. as far as cats go, another option is MagnaFlow replacement cats, i dont know if they work on the CLK, but EvoSport has them on their website, dont know if they still sell them or not....

We are actually working on some Metallic cats to be used instead. Btw, I had to drive about 15 miles with no resonator or muffler, I coasted past 3 cops at 25 mph It was so loud that I could barely hear who I was talking to on my cell phone.
