I just scratched my rim for the first time...I am soooooooo p*ssed
off. I had my rims for about 4,000 miles and theyre all in mint condition, until tonight.
Someone PLEASEEEEEE HELPPPPPPPPP MEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
I live in New York, and I need a name of a place where I can bring it to get repaired. I scratched just the lip of the rim (no bends). Can this even be repaired to look good as new??????
This is even making me think about getting new rims all together.
Just out of curiousity, would anyone be interested in buying a set of Lorinser LM-5's: 18x8.5 and 18x9.5...3 out of 4 are in mint condition. (i even clean the inside of the rims everytime i wash my car.)
But more importantly...I need the name of a place where I can get it repaired.
Thanks,
Mark D.

I'm sure someone will reply with a reference to call. I have seen shops in my area take rims that literally have chunks gouged out of them and return them refinished looking better than new.

Two of my spanking new AMGs were damaged by a highway expansion joint (at a construction area) less than a week after the set was mounted (aaaargh)! Both were bent and one also suffered a crack. I brought 'em both to Precision Wheel Service in Branford, CT (just up the road from ya') and they did a spectacular job.
Check out their web site at:
http://www.precisionwheelservice.com/
They guarantee to meet/exceed OEM spec's.
Hope this helps,
Paul

A suggestion..
Since you are in NY, I don't know if this will help you much. Whenever I curb a rim or a friend curbs a rim, I get them repaired by The Wheel Supply and talk to Sander Huang.. They are located in Anahiem California. What you can do is take off the tire and send the wheel to him. He does a GREAT job and the customer service is A+++. He's an honest guy and will do his best.
I curbed a Brabus rim, which is a silver faced clear coated rim. They are very difficult to repair because you have to reclearcoat the wheel without getting the "orange peel" effect. Plus, you have to readd the machine lines which is removed when you repair the rim.
Give him a call and see what he can do for you.

Mark,
I also scratched my rim on my CLK. I contacted the dealership. They have a person who comes out once a week to the dealership to repair scratched rims on the used cars. They had this person fix mine. Cannot tell it was scratched. It was worth the $60. I live in Maryland.

I bumped a curb while swerving to avoid an suv (driven by a dwarf who couldn't see over the steering wheel) and got a nasty scrape in a rim. Anybody know of a good place on the San Francisco Peninsula to get it fixed?
