It will kill the battery only if it is left on for a long time..over night or even a couple of nights will not drain it to the point of not letting it start. Some vehicles will even shut down the accessories once it detects a low voltage. Now once it starts to get colder it could turn into a different story. I have left a small lamp on in my Navigator during the wimter 10 degrees F and I had a dead battery in the morning. Does your IPOD transmitter have a light and display and stuff on it, if its the one I am thinking of then it is constantly pulling power. My suggestion would be to err on the safe side and unplug. Just my 2 cents, I wouldnt want you to end up like I did.

Well, a little pricey remedy.........
Blaupunkt makes several black faced models for german cars that have Ipod hookups. You could use a Blaupunkt head unit with Ipod adapter and keep the factory bose system AND the factory look, feel, and buttons all working.
