Replacement of CLK Light Bulbs

Replacement of CLK Light Bulbs
Fellow CLKers,
I needed some advice/thoughts on the following:
I have a 2001 CLK 430. I made the mistake of not going with the Xenon option (yeah I know, bonehead move).
Problem is now in rainy weather, poorly lit conditions, the stock lights don't cut it and I end up having to turn on the high beams (frowned upon in CA).
Any suggestions on replacement bulbs for stock lights, short of installing Xenons? Or is that my only option? Someone was telling me about HID bulbs that might work, but I was not sure about compatibility issues with stock MBZ gear.
Thanks for the advice.

I just installed a aftermarket HID unit in my car
It uses Hella ballblasts, and it comes in at 7000K... A little too blue for my taste.
It cost me $500 installed. So I know it will work with the factory system, the only thing is the computer will pick up a signal so every time you turn your light on, your display will show " bulb defective" all you do is just push the little "R" button where you set the clock and it goes away.
Had it on for 2 weeks now and no problems yet.

Used to be a CLK430
Nice name!! I recently put in the Philips VisionPlus and am very happy with them. While they don't give the Xenon look, they are very bright white, and at $40 bucks, toss em if you're not impressed. You can get them here:

I had them installed less than a week after I ordered them!
Good Luck!!
