there is not so much are "base" model, there is a "sport" "elegance" and "advantgarde" (in order worst to best) models, differences are mostly interior details and extras i.e. most sports dont have wood grain or computer center console, elegance does and advantgarde has all extras (most of the time) heated seats, parctronic ect.

hope that helped.

i don't know much about "sport" or "base", but I've seen some really ugly 320's which had a 2 tone exterior (color of the car did NOT match the moldings.) But to solve that problem, all you would have to do is purchase new moldings from a 430, and the AMG body kit that comes standard with the 430's.....oh yeah....don't forget the 17" AMG rims as well.

CLK320, Carrera S
The designations "sport" "elegance" and "advantgarde" were used in Europe and referred to interior trim levels and base equipment levels and interior color schemes. The model sold in the US corresponds to a highly optioned “elegance” model.

For the W208 there is no difference between a sport version vs. any other from the point of view of handling (suspension, engine…).

2000 CLK 430
only difference between yours and say a 320 with an upgraded appearance package is just the front and rear bumper covers and side skirt. The next step up from what you have would be just that (ie amg body kit)

If this is for a U.S. spec car, you can read about the factory CP1 sports package at my website. It's in the optional equipment section about 2/3rds of the way down the page. With this package, the 320 will look like a 430.

That's a nice looking ride. Like CLKAL said, as long as it does NOT have that hideous black moulding on the bottom, a nice set of rims should do you proud!
