Don't know if this has already been posted - but this is a huge (5000+pg) WIS equivalent online Adobe file(only more clearly written) for the Crossfire. Very few diagnostic or part differences for our powertrain and electronics. Also makes matching Chrysler parts easy to identify - and the Chyrysler dealer, at least here, has a much bigger parts inventory at less than 1/2 the price. All the fluid specs Mercedes is so secretive about are fully explained here, as well as full diagnostic and repair instructions. I have been using Alldata and EPC, but this is much better. Check it out.
(Moderator - Do think this link should be a sticky in the DIY thread? I know some of us aren't exactly thrilled by the Crossfire/208 CLK relationship, but this is still a valuable tool)

No, it would have been sad if the CLK came after the crossfire. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Imitation is flattery. They must have liked the design enough to keep it going.

That makes me wonder if Crossfires experience the insane electrical issues the 208s do. Hmm....

Some people may not be able to download a 80MB file. Muskrat may have to upload to one of those sites that let you store large files on and maybe you can get it from there. I have the owner's manual .pdf (9MB) and a few people have asked for it. Some times they get it (email), sometimes I have to upload it.

pdf upload
Sorry - I work with large files frequently, and often forget how big a pain it can be without the right setup. I have the PDF, and I had cut it up into sections to e-mail to another member. I could upload it to another site. If anybody has any suggestions, or cares, reply. I am finishing up an insane amount of electrical, suspension, and trans linkage work - which I never could have done without this. It really is a huge resource for more in-depth projects, as well as having plain english desriptions of how systems work and procedures. I use the alldata DIY subscription, which you can't beat for $20 a year, but it relies to heavily on the dealer diagnostic tools. With this, you can diagnose most anything using a multimeter and a cheap scanner (and you barely need the scanner. Also it has an active index (click on the topic/area, and takes you to the page, so once you have it, your system isn't buried when working with it.
It took me almost three weeks, but the work I did would easily have cost twice what my car is worth (no exaggeration), the electrical alone wold have run at least $4500. Except for a few bolts and some solder - and the tools I can't find because I threw a lot of them across the garage every time I found out I wasted 3 hours, it cost me zero. I'm guessing that I spent around $600 total in parts - and that was for motor mounts, two trans filters, 16 quarts of trans. fluid, a bunch of bushings, 4 wheel bearings, 4 pads, two rotors. This includes the $150 I spent on stuff that I broke because I didn't know the proper removal procedure and was too lazy to come inside to look it up.

Yes...and yes.
The ODB II codes are not vehicle specific, so yes they are applicable. When looking for remedies for particular codes though, you will want to do a forum search here, or benzworld.org, or mercedesshop.com. Alldata'd DIY subscription has a good search function for TSB's related to specific codes. If you do much maintenance yourself, it is worth the $20 (1 year of access) charge.

Codes & model variant
The Pcodes are the last 20 pages in the file. And yes, the true derivative for the crossfire was the 170SLK. But for anyone with a 320 the driveline and electrics are the same (as they would be for a 320SLK).
