Man smashes his Mercedes

From Australian news (news.com.au):

THE disgruntled owner of a sleek Mercedes Benz SLK230 hired workers armed with sledge hammers to destroy his car after the German auto-maker failed to repair it, state press reported

Car owner **** Sheng started his two-day protest on Tuesday when he had a cow pull his car through the streets of Wuhan in central Hubei province to demand his rights as a consumer, the Beijing Morning Post said.

Yesterday, the car went under the sledge hammer.

**** is the chairman of the board of the Wuhan Endangered Species Park Company, which bought the car in December 2000 for 700,000 yuan ($A166,000).

**** complained that he had to repair the car five times over the last year and that repeated requests to Mercedes Benz, the Beijing Bingshi Car Sales Company and the Hubei consumer protection bureau to repossess the vehicle had failed.

The car's one year repair guarantee expired on December 19, he said.

Mercedes claimed that the automobile was malfunctioning because of tainted fuel and not a problem with the quality of the car, the paper said.

Wrong use of the CLUB!

Instructions should have been in Cantonese, NOT Mandarin. This guy is at war!

Mr. Sheng should consider a bamboo covered bicycle with side-car. Much more reliable.

What an outrageous act and disrespect for real-time state of the art automotive technology and the MB tradition, reputation, image.
