Navigation for 99 CLK 430 - wiring- HELP!!!
I bought a Eruo Navigation off Ebay. At the time I didn’t know that since my CLK didn’t come with Navigation originally I would have to rewire the system. One install shop told me that all of the wiring/harness etc would cost me over $1000 (dealership prices). The seller said I could get everything I need for $50-$150. Anybody know where I can find what I need to make my Nav work????? THANKS!

I took it to a professional installation shop. They said, since my car didn’t already have a navigation system, I need to buy the wiring and antennae etc. These items are very expensive when purchased from a dealer. I was wondering if there was somewhere online I can find what I need at a reasonable price…or maybe is there a way to hook it up without all the new wiring etc…I may need a second opinion.

Have you bought an after market navigation?
You need a speed signal it's in the right door sill. It's a green-violet cable with ab blue connector.
Switched 12V you can take from the cigarette lighter.
The antenna should be with your navigation system. If not, it's not really expensive.
The most expensive thing is the can bus adaptor for the steering wheel controls. But if you don't need this you can save money....

Sorry for asking a dumb question, but what does noCAN and CAN mean?
This is a used Mercedes Navigation. The seller said it should work on the following models
1997-2002 E CLASS W210
1997-2002 CLK CLASS W208
1998-2005 ML CLASS W163

Well, mind you I used the U.S. version not Euro but esentially all the plugs on the back of your oem radio fit into the MCS, the nav drive runs off the same power as the radio did. I found the antenna from an online company that was cheap, 16 bucks or something but I can't remember the name. I'll look for the receipt.

The radio works witout any problems? RDS signal?
The GPS of course but the radio...[/QUOTE]
The radio works well, it just doesnt lock onto the signal as well as a german radio does because their frequency seperation is closer together. A little more static every now and then.
