Sorry to bump an old thread.. but did anyone save the diagrams that MarcusF posted?

I need to find out how to pull out the entire center console including the side panels. Door panel removal diagrams would be helpful too, since I'm planning to revamp the entire stereo system in my car.

The WIS is usually available on ebay. Some of the ones on ebay don't work. I've seen posts from some who claim the newer ones have a time "feature" which stops the software from working after a certain number of months. I don't know whether that's true or whether they were experiencing seat to keyboard interface issues. The 4 year old copy of the WIS that I have requires access to the Internet to function. It doesn't access websites, but rather checks to see if access is "available". I write this because some virus protection software may attempt to block the WIS from looking, and that will stop the WIS from working. BTW, when the WIS stops working because of this, everything (and most importantly, the error messages) changes back to the default language of GERMAN and won't change back. Great huh?

MB USA offers a W208 specific service DVD, which is a subset of the WIS. Unlike the ebay WIS, the MB DVD is not a blackmarket copy. This service DVD does not require Internet access and is easier to navigate. When I got mine from MB USA it was $60 and available at the 800 number (1.800.FOR.MERC). They'll need a credit card. The DVD will only work under Windows and I haven't tried it under Vista. I haven't tried the WIS under Vista either. The service DVD cannot easily be copied, so if someone on e-bag claims to have them for $10, it's best use may be that of a drink coaster. Lastly, this is the same W208 specific DVD that is commonly seen for $100 at some sites. They're just marking up the price on the MB USA DVD.

^^^

I called that number a couple weeks ago and they directed me to startekinfo because "they don't sell it anymore", so I paid $18 for a 24hr period and printed out about 50 pages that I thought would be most useful. I wasn't able to find AT fluid/filter service.

I'm calling again tomorrow.

OK so these 50 pages that you have printed.
Is it possible to buy copies from them.
Could you maybe send them on mail?

So the W208 Service DVD is out of production? Interesting.

I think I have the AT service docs on my service DVD at home. I know I have it on my WIS. If I can remember, I'll look it up tonight.

Naturally, I got home and forgot all about it. On the upside, here's a link to a 722.6 transmission fluid change

You have to remove the interior door panel...there are clips on the back of those pieces that hold them on. Good luck.
