320 - could check WIS later

These are for 320 - but location and test procedure should be the same (values may be different, I'll check WIS this evening if you haven't resolved it).

Notes

Purge Control System (Major Leak) or Voltage Supply of Component B4/3 (Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor)

Purge Control System (Major Leak) or Voltage Supply of Component B4/3 (Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor)

Check Component B4/3 (Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor). (Only (USA))

Test 1 Check Actual Value B4/3 (Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor)
Test 2 Test Voltage Supply of Component B4/3 (Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor)

1 Check Actual Value B4/3 (Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor)

Figure legend

019 Vacuum tester
b Purge line from activated charcoal canister to component Y58/1 (Purge control valve)
Y58/1 (Purge control valve)
Test sequence

Switch off ignition.
Detach purge line to activated charcoal filter at component Y58/1 (Purge control valve) and connect vacuum tester to purge line.
Switch on ignition.
Actuate component Y58/4 (Activated charcoal canister shut-off valve). (Operate pushbutton F2.)
Note: Component M4/3 (engine/AC electric suction fan) runs with an on/off ratio of 50 % during the actuations for safety reasons.

Note! Communication with ECU required.

** End of Test **

2 Test Voltage Supply of Component B4/3 (Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor)

Test requirement

The actual value is not o.k.
Test sequence

Switch off ignition.
Connect socket box to component N3/10 (ME-SFI control module).
(D.4) 36 <--> 38 (D.6)
Switch on ignition.
Specified value

Voltage [4.7...5.3] V
Question

Is the measured value okay? Yes
The measured value is o.k.
Further possible causes of fault

Inspect cables from component N3/10 (ME-SFI control module) to component B4/3 (Fuel tank pressure sensor).
B4/3 (Fuel tank pressure sensor)
No
The measured value is not o.k.
Possible cause and remedy

Inspect cables from component N3/10 (ME-SFI control module) to component B4/3 (Fuel tank pressure sensor).
** End of test **

Wow Muskrat, that is one fine response.
I'll take a shot at it this weekend.
Thanks again, that's some mighty helpful info.

Wish I could take credit...

That was just a crude cut and paste from AlldataDIY. They seem to be largely ignored here - and certainly do need to be combined with at least EPC. The saving grace is that a 1yr subscription for a specific vehicle is $25 (I think I remember that right - whatever, it was cheap). It's not the best thing I've used (I have pulled up "maintance - rear differential" and got a diagram of what I swear was a crude outline of David Hasselhof). Still, for the price of 4 quarts of Mobil 1 - you can't really go wrong. A lot of the references assume we have full STAR diag. equipment, but it still gives us a place to start. Below are some component locations. The canister itself is in right rear wheel housing on my car (I had a similiar problem - and I fixed it, but I really don't know how. Pulled things off, shook them around, blew ut the canister, code went away. Still don't know why). Canister is listed as right rear wheel housing - I was thinking I remember mine being on the right side, but I always end up doing these things at 3:00 am., so don't trust me.
