In prior post I was asked if I got my MB extended warranty, for $18,00, from Lisa at Courtesy Motors. The answer is "no". I got it from my local dealer. But I did quote Lisa's price to him, and if he did not come close, I would have called Lisa.

If we can organize a group buy, that would be great. I'm not too sure with dealerships entertaining group buys though, especially FJ.

spoked with 3 different dealers, they all seem to have similar terms & prices, but FJ did mention COMMAND will also be covered which I do have in my car .....
i am going down to Laguna to have my car serviced next week, I will talk to the lady i spoked with on the phone see if they are willing to give some discount if we have 2-3 people interested, will post the result next week .....

i'm in the orange county area and would be interested in any group rates you could negotiate as well. i'm getting pretty close on my car (99 430 with 48k miles). what quotes have you gotten so far?

Additionally, get ALL EXCLUSIONS - in WRITING!!
Whatever FJ offers, might not be recognized by another MB dealer, because it is NOT on the MB database, -- which is accessed by 300 MB service departments nationwide.

Updated Info on Extended Warranty !!
here are quotes from MB of Laguna Niguel on extended warranty, got a blank contract with me, if anybody is interested, leave me your fax # I will fax it to u
Spoked with Lynn at the dealer, she is willing to knock off $300 for each contract if we have a group of 3,
the following is for 6 years or 100,000 miles, the contract starts on the day of application not end of our factory warranty
for 99 and on CLK430, price before the $300 discount, if your car has,
40k ----- ? miles $3100
30k -----40K miles $3000
24k -----30k miles $2982
< 24k miles $2800
if you go with 6 yrs/75,000 miles contract, take $400 off from the above price,
I will also check with her on prices for 5 yrs/100k miles and 5 yrs/75k miles
some additional info she mentioned,
- Command / Radio is covered
- Loan car while car in the shop, up to 6 days, up to $25 a day
- 0 deductible
- if we have the car fixed at Laguna, they will take care of billing the insurance company, we do not need to do anything (she also mentioned would be the same at house of imports & caliber for some reason)
the above prices are good til 12/31/2002, after that, she doesn't know if the prices will go up or down, doesn't seem too bad after the $300 discount, anybody interested ?

Do you have in writing that COMAND, AUDIO incl. CD changer is covered?
If one gets the MB premium extended, you are on the MB database and have no hassle with 300 MB dealers nationwide.

after my extensive recent visit to the dealer, i also had questions about my extended warranty. i found out that after the base warranty expires, under the extended warranty... everything is NOT covered bumper to bumper. only mechanical issues are covered by the extended warranty. if the molding on the door came off, tuff, you are screwed and have to replace it yourself...
