another pic...

what i am trying to do now is finish my CK43. i need a few more mods. which are the ones i have listed above. i am going to take my time and research it slowly if i have to....
also, i am trying to see where i can get customer caps made for my rims. right now they say SSR but i want to get Mercedes Center caps to replace it with. the size is different so standard Mercedes caps won't fit. any guys in here have ideas?

Beautiful car and nice wheels- IMO those are some the nicest looking 1 piece wheels I have seen.
Have you seen the two piece version, they are sweet too. What are the sizes on those wheels??

The "Auto-tranny chip" doesn't actually exist (to my knowledge), but an upgraded tranny computer usually comes with changing the differential. I can't tell if you have 18's or 19's, but if they are 18's it would be better to go with a 3.07 than a 3.27. A 3.27 would put too much power to the 18's, and leave your ESP constantly going off (definitely defeating the purpose).

Unless you only want Carlsson Intake (do they make intake), you're probably better off saving a grand and buying a filter only.

I can get you any info you want on it or your other mods, mach430@adelphia.net

2001 CLK 55 AMG
Hey Waldon, I just got the same rims a week ago. I love 'em. I noticed that my center badges/caps on the fronts are different than the rears. Are your's different? I bought the wheels from Tirerack w/ S-03s and they did a crappy job on the balancing. My car shakes now.
Have fun w/ 'em!

Why don't you complain to them and ask them to reimburse you to have them balanced at a local shop?

2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupe ;)
Beautiful CLK, - but wheels, no thanks.

The five-spoke wheels look identical to the 2001/2002 C5 Corvette standard wheels - matte or polished.

That's what I traded in for a MB!

thanks dudes!

These wheels are SSR integrals 18x8 and 18x9
my car i lowered with the Carlsson stage 2 kit.

i like the 5 spoke look actually and the cool thing about these rims is that these rims are very very light weight as opposed to other tuner wheels like brabus, carlsson and AMG.
i heard that OZ makes the wheels for the tuners anyways. But i do like the look of Brabus monobloc Vs though!

Mach430, i am still waiting for info on some of the issues you mentioned about. 3.27 still might work...calculations will show if it will work ok or not....
if i went only 3.07; it wouldn't be worth the money in that upgrade. The C43 has a 3.07 and it doesnt seem aggressive enough.

Nice car, I think you should get 19" Carlsson 2/5 Brilliant Edition and RS kit, it'll look totally awesome.

Hey there, Long time no speak. The car looks great, I still love the SSR rims, but what made you get rid of the HRE's. What have you been up to.

Darius! what is up bro??

Hi Darius and others...
i changed the rims because i like the thin five spoke a lot and the SSRs look the best. all i have to do now is get either Mercedes Center caps or Carlsson center caps and the rims will be complete.

darius, give me a call bro

917.952.5033

did you ever get the CLK55 convertible??

Lowryder,
the 19" carlssons are nice but way too expensive and i would get killed driving on them in NYC. also, they are way softer than the SSRs and will probably bend a lot easier. i love the way your car looks by the way!!

ps. i also put 12mm spacers in the rear to make the stance more aggressive. if you look at my car from the back, the wheels look wide as hell!!!!

spacers...

I got my spacers from Luke at tirerack
he was really helpful in researching the exact bolt length as well so that i dont destroy my rear parking break.
i get so much grip on my tires now....

thanks!!!

Spacers

Walden-

Great looking ride. I like the SSRs too. Just a quick question - I'm getting some rims as well, but what are the spacers for? Are they to push the rims out more? Like since your rears are 9in, they push them out more to make them look closer to 9.5in? Thanks.
