Terrible ebay product

I decided to buy the sports grill for my CLK and I didn't want to pay $400 bucks on some website so I got one off Ebay... What a mistake! I think I paid $200 with shipping for it and the emblem isnt even all metal you have to stick the mercedes emblem onto the piece of metal that goes in the hole. Sorry if I am offending anyone who has one of these but the thing is a piece of ****. Does anyone know where I can get one that actually sits flush with my hood instead of sitting onto of the hole? It wont even tighten down correctly. Somebody hook me up and point me in the right direction with an emblem that is real and sits correctly on the hood I would appreciate it.

Also I am going to paste the URL of the auction that I won so people can stay away from this junk although I dont mind the grill I just hate the emblem!

just an fyi...some are designed to stick above the hood like that instead of actually in the hole...i personally like it not flush and above the hole...and also i think the majority of them do NOT fit flush into the hole...they are designed like the newer CLKs and other benz's....ie - the hood emblem on a stock w209 sticks out above and NOT flush...

lol ya thas ebay for you...the first one i had that was flush and i was dissapointed when i found it was flush but that one somehow ended up flying out of the whole socket lol...but my current one is pretty much like how u described urs too...its all metal tho and the carlsson logo was separate and had to be put on after screwing in the round metal thing (which actually was a pain in the *** for me too)...but its good its separate otherwise the carlsson logo could have ended up being upside down or sideways or somtin...

chek out a w209 or heres a some pics of mine...now u saw one lol:

I bought the same grill and totally agree. It is a piece of ****! It looks better but defiently is not worth the money. It is cheaply made and weighs almost nothing. I had to use super-glue just to keep it from falling apart. If you find anyone who sells a better grill, let me know.

Ha ha I had to use super glue as well. The black mesh behind the emblem on the grill clipped on but the clips easily broke off so I had to super glue the stupid thing. It does look a lot better but come on the quality of the grill sucks. Oh well....so much for going the cheap ebay route.

Do you have a picture of a Schatz grill? I would be interested in buying one if its the real thing. Anyone ever bought any grills from www.gap-germany.com?
