Weird Parking Lamps
My left parking lamp was not working; checked bulb, looked good, swapped with right bulb, it worked. Checked fuses=good. Long story short, during troubleshooting, right lamp comes on even if it's plug socket or both plug sockets are pulled from the lamp.
I read both plug sockets with ohmmeter to ground and both read the same:
brown leads=infinity; white lead=15 ohms.
Only thing I can think of is a wiring or control circuit problem but I don't have any schematics; my WIS mysteriously will not boot up.
Any ideas?

Not weird after all...........
just plain stupid on my part.
I was so focused on the large light ***'y being the headlights and small ***'y being the parking lamp that I only checked the one lamp that was so obvious when you take the cover off. Turned out that the small ***'y houses both the high beam lamp (H7) and the parking lamp (H6) that sits right under it; all the time I was checking the high beam lamp.
I ordered new ones along with a spare H7, windshield washer pump, and oil filter kit from Autohaus; none of the local chain autoparts stores carries the
H6 lamp.
Problem solved; lesson learned.
