Front end vibration

I put some 18" chrome wheels on my 1998 CLK 320 and at between 50-55 mph I experience a slight vibration in the steering wheel. I've had the wheels balanced again and again but it does not go away. Any suggestions? The wheels look great and enhances the look of the car 10 fold. MB drivers power activate - help me out ............... Rod

Check your suspension. Could be something as simple as a steering damper to needing new LCR bushings, which are a known weak point on these cars. Good luck!

dont rule out a cheap, bad or worn tire, on top of a slightly out of round rim.

I just replaced the touring tires with a set of bf goodrich g-force t/a kdw , smooth sailing ever since !

hub spacers are plastic washers that increase the size of the hub that the middle of the rim sit on. to much play and you get vibration, tight fit means rims dont move so no vibration. the rim shop you got the rims from should do it for free. if not from a rim shop they gonna charge you for mounting labor the spacers prolly free

Thanks for the info on the rims and hub. I also want the xenon lights up front. What type of system do you recommend? The blue will make my white CLK look crazy. I want to do it right the first time and leave it alone. I;m open for suggestioins so that when I go to a shop I can speak the lingo enough not to get ripped off. Thanks for the help.....
