210 projector lights
i about cried when i saw how many cheap, cheap, low priced projector setups of all colors/ styles there are for the w210 e class. these lights look very simiar to ours. is it concievable to use w210 lights in our cars. if not, does anyone know exactly why? is there any modifications that can be done to the w210 lights to make them fit in a w208? they're only $200!!!!!! and they look sooooo goooood!!!! its just not fair!!!!
--has anyone even tried this?
--does anyone know anything about how w208 and w210 lights are wired? if no, can anyone find out?
if anyone can think of a way to convert these lights to fit our cars, i am willing to take one for the team and buy a set and try out any ideas.
there just has to be some way this can be done!!!

1. As similar as they look, the shapes of the lights are different - the E class lights are rounder, the CLK lights are a bit more oval shaped - so you would have fitment issues w/ the fenders/bumper/hood.
2. The E-class light assemblies extend much deeper into the engine compartment than the CLK ones do.
If it makes you feel any better, the $200 E-Class lights I've seen are relatively poor in quality. Do a search on here - I remember someone fitting projectors into his OEM lights. It was a lot of work, but it came out nice.

Thrillkill is the one the retrofitted projectors into his lenses. You can see his work here:

so CLK AMG, those are w210 projectors in there? i will have fiber glass replic lorinser fenders on in the very near future as well as a fiberglass bumper soon. if so, what needs done to make them fit? and the wiring IS the same?
its not that the clk projectors are just too taxed, the w210 has awesome styles of black/ smoke projectors ( as in not cheese grater-looking things).
any advice would be appreciated.
BTW last night i did buy a 8000k conversion kit. it works by simply replacing the halogen bulb with an HID bulb. you plug a ballast into the original power cord and then the baalst goes to the HID bulb. supposed to be completely plug and play. we see. i still want the w210 projectors though. this will just tide me over.

SET: let us know how that 8000k conversion kit installs (how easily). Take pics!
Headlights might be the one component that EVERYBODY has an issue with (for one reason or another)....LOL

I to would like to do the same but the only person on this forum who has done the custom install is VIPCLK320 and he never answered any of my emails or threads that I started specifically calling out for his advise. I live here by him in Los Angeles and I just wanted to see how his turned out but no luck with him ever getting back to me or anyone else. Try looking him up or start a thread calling him out from hibernation.
So the question really do remains....where VIP at?
