Used to happen to me all the time, when I was messing with those stupid LED's for the city lights. Just get yourself one of those extendalbe magnets and you should be able to fish it out. Good luck!

ya first thing i thought of was a magnet too, but i was told by 2 ppl that a magnet wont attract the brass on the bulb....so it looks like ill either try the double sided tape or a rod with the retractable grabbing tool thingy on the end...thanks guys

lol
So did you have clear bulbs instead of amber ones? Also, you can't pass inspection if they are not amber?
I've been using bright whites on all my turn signals and never been stopped or failed inspection.

go to Home Depot and look in the tool section. They sell a tool made to grab things in tight places like this. It is about 3 feet long (flexible). I think that it's made by Stanley tools. At one end is a small plunger (looks like the handle of a large medical syringe). When you push it, 3 thin metal fingers push out of the other end. When you have them around the object, let go of the plunger and the fingers retract and grab the object. Hope that works for you. They cost about $4

yes, i like this tool for this problem. with tape/wire, you still will have to orient
the bulb so that it will allow bulb to exit so you'd need to get it to stick oh-just-
right. with the claw, you can grab the tail end. i would suggest tying a string
just shy of the prongs...thereby allowing you to maneuver the business end...
and carefully pulling on it to skew/yaw the pronged end.
it is extremely easy to get sticky stuff onthe reflective surface and lens...and
you'll pay for this down the road as it attracts dirt/dust etc. cleaning it will
be a beyotch
depending on the construction of your lights, the telescopic magnet may not
have the ability to maneuver in curved fashion....which is why the stringed
control of the flexible grabber has a big advantage
...making me appreciate the 97-99 w210s which allow the headlight assembly
to be removed in less than 5 mins from the body

Yes I know it's a 14 year old thread lol! But since there were no details on how it was resolved, I figured I'd post mine in case it helps someone down the road.
This just happened to me!
I rigged up a magnet and yes the poster who said bulbs are not magnetic, is correct.
So I looked up pulling the light assembly and removing the bumper is a lot of work that I dont want to get into till I exhausted all options.
I dont want to deal with adhesive marks in the lens so sticky stuff is out.
My last resort was to try to get it using a vacuum and I'm happy to say it worked!
My idea was to connect a thin hose onto the end of our vacuum, thread the hose down the hole to the bulb, and hope the bulb gets sucked up and held on firmly enough to get pulled out.
I had to fiddle with my setup a bit as our Dyson started cutting out when it got a hold of the bulb, but really happy I was able to get it to work and pull the bulb out!
