performace ive got ported and polished heads. C4 cams. custom made airbox with green filters. powerchips ecu upgrade. custom quad exhaust with the secondary cats and resonator removed.

Where did you get your cams? And when you had them installed did you change the valve springs?

The cams I got from a friend, he bought them for his car, but his car got wrecked 3 days before we were gonna install it on his car. I did get new valve springs because I pretty much did a complete valve job. Just regular springs, nothin special.

I am trying to decide between AMG valve springs or just the regular ones... But do stiffer springs really give you better performance?

Depending on the cams. If the cams u have are gonna have a larger lobe for a longer duration, then yeah I would go with stiffer springs. If the duration is not much more dramatic than the stock, then stock springs should be fine.

A good "port job" will definetly help. Blending the ports,removing small bumps and matching mating surfaces But polishing has recently proven to hurt performance.It'll slow down airflow. Hi-tech head companies now CNC tiny grooves/cuts into the port walls instead of polishing. It causes the air to push into the center flow increasing airflow speed. Another way to increase power thru out entire rev range is to mill the head and increase compression. If.. there's clearance between the piston/valves.

To each of their own, if you like the sound and performance of the V6s then damn rest asure the V6 CLK is just for you, but when you wanna squeeze some juice and feel it in your booty, then you go with the big boy CLK430 or the big daddy CLK55 AMG, plain and simple.

but the 320 can hold it down, there are some 320s rolling around with some power as well as the 430 / 55s.
