Engine help...

Been having a lot of engine problems, my dad isn't really experienced in the field of Mercedes so he tries to do what he can do... We had looked into it, the engine seems to be missing... It used to knock really bad, that the car would shake really bad inside the car or outside the car.. We kinda did a normal tune up, changed the spark plugs, oil change, changed a pulley, changed the belt, which has done nothing to improve the car. I think the alternator is making noise which might have to go, anyone wanna give some input?

First, I would look into the MAF sensor. Its a very typical failure node in our cars. Mine started to go yesterday and it made the engine shake and run very rough. You can buy a new one but it is worth spending $6-8 on CRC MAF sensor cleaner to see if it fixes the problem. Search here for how to do this and get back to us...

Aside from that, did you put new plug wires on as well? I would look there and if that does nothing then ensure all your coils are firing. A coil not firing would have you running on 7 cylinders and it would definitely shake. You can probably find an alternator on eBay on the cheap to avoid sky high dealer prices. Keep us in the look on what you find out.

My dad is a dealer, so parts arn't that bad for me... So I'm gonna look into the MAF sensor... See what happens, thanks.
