Window problem
My driver-side window doesn not want to close all the way up. Was there any solution to this, aside from going to the dealer to have it reset?
I am sorry to post this much discussed problem again, but I could not find any info on it on the forum in the timely manner.

if you are talking about it not wanting to 'auto-up' all the way... just hold down the 'up' button after it reaches the top for a few seconds... and that will reset the windows.

The reason you are getting 2 different responses is because there are actually 2 different problems that commonly occur with the windows. Before you go to a dealer, I recommend that you try resetting the controller by following mmgrad's instructions. If this doesn't work, than the regulators may be broken, and the dealer will likely replace the window motor (had mine done twice).

Hi,
I'm having similar problems in my 2001 CLK 430 where the Express Up hit's the top of the window and opens a few inches back down. It thinks something is in the way. My friend said go in and have the control modules replaced for each door.
Also, isn't the driver window suppose to open slightly when the door is opened and then reseal after it's closed?

Sounds like your window just needs to be reset. Press the button 1 click (Not all the way) so that it lowers to the bottom. Then hold the button all the way down for 7 seconds. Do the same for the way up. This should fix your window. If not, the dealer will need to replace it.

MBs with no top window frame will lower the glass when the doors open, and raise it back up when the windows close. better noise and weather insulation.
