2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupe ;)
Noisy Sunroof.

My CLK55 is two months old w/2,000 miles.

My sunroof squeaks when going over an uneven road surface, and activating the up or down positions as well and sliding the sunroof in & out.

However after a carwash -- No noise/squeaks for an hour or so.

Dealer says to wait till the first service in about 6 months, unless I want to have it looked at now.

QUESTION:

Shall I wait? Are squeaky sunroofs common?

Many tnx.

Karl

You probably have something rubbing in it. I would be very careful about having them fix it. I complained about a minor squeak when closing it from the slanted position. They used so much grease/oil that now the shade underneath smashes forwards or back everytime I accelerate/brake. It is getting slightly better though. They have to replace the whole piece at my next service.

My CLK320 has around 1300 km right now, I also hear sqeak noises when i roll down my window ( passenger and driver side, not sun roof), or when i roll it up

but its' not a constant thing, it occurs randomly...i brought it in to MB dealer, they said I should wait till service A to check the windows again, but maybe the rubber material holding the windows are too tight right now. They say it take some time wear the window in with the rubber contacts areas
so, i dunno..
maybe the same with ur sun roof window?

I've owned my CLK55 for eleven months and have had the identical creaking/sqeaking driver's side window and sunroof problems mentioned here. I currently have 6100miles on the car and have noticed that the window "creak" has disappeared at approximately 5500 miles and hasn't resurfaced, cold, hot, wet or dry. As for the sunroof, I've pretty much gotten used to it as it's not a type of sqeak that I find particularly annoying. The car seems to have settled down and is actually functionally quieter than it was during the first 5,000 miles. I mentioned this to my shop foreman who also happens to be a friend of mine(therefore I can believe his bull***** ;-) ) and he said this is quite common especially with the stiffer AMG cars. He actually told me to let the car "settle in" for a few thousand miles before I start *****ing in earnest. I told him he was full of bull excrement, but now agree with his assessment. Enjoy the car and let things settle down before you nail your dealer with your "to do" list.
