Mirror problem

Hello, everyone:

Out of the blue, and without any impact to the housing, my passenger side mirror has become loose. The motor still works, but the glass itself jiggles when the car is moving. I pressed it in firmly and this stopped the jiggling for a few days, but now it's back. Does anyone know how to repair this problem? Will it require a whole new mirror assembly? It's just amazing to me how time ravages everything. This car is 8 years old, has 31,000 miles and is always garaged, and things still spontaneously break .

The mirror can easily become disconnected from the backplate that is connect to the motors that adjust the position of the mirror. I took it to the dealer and they fixed it in 5 minutes for me free of charge.

The mirror movement is controlled by arms that come out of the motor. The arms get brittle and break over time (or if the mirror glass is banged). The glass can be removed and the arm glued. That's what I did. Unfortunately, my step-by-step instructions are in California and I'm in NY. If no one posts a fix by the time I return home, I'll follow up.

Ummm....I don't know about glue, but if the litte white plastic arms are broken, you can replace the motor. Don't need the entire housing. The stealer and indies might tell you that you do....but you don't. I've replace mine....

Oooh I have the same problem but I always forget about it! I didn't know the best way to slip the mirror cover off and didn't want to risk breaking it. And then I always forget!

I also have the same problem. One of the 6 pins on the mirror motor has broken off. You need to change out the motor. I am going to try to rebuild the pin with several application of epoxy.
