Central locking fault - PSE ?

2000 CLK320 + 2002 E270CDI
Central locking fault - PSE ?
help - my central locking's stopped working but the remote still arms the alarm and makes the lights flash. if i use the metal key in the lock, then the drivers door opens but not the passenger door or boot. if i get in and press the door unlock button it doesnt work and neither does the boot/trunk release button inside.
Ive checked the fuses and they're fine.
Someone told me it could be the vacuum pump (the PSE), but they didntsay where that is located, does anyone know ? or is it likely to be something else?
The car is a 2000 CLK320 coupe

Never had that problem, but from what you are describing, that sounds like the culprit, maybe something is preventing power to the pump or the pump itself might be gone, try testing the power to the pump, dont know where it is, but when my windshield washer pump went out, the mechanic was testing the power to the pump with one of those electrical probe things that light up when there is power, if you are getting power to the pump then the pump may be dead

i have the same exact problem with 2002 clk 430 convertable. the problem is the same lights flash alarm gets armed and disarmed but doors wont lock.. have you found what the reason for this problem could be. my car has 32000 miles. someone please help us!!!

When the weather gets colder, the pump can sometimes not lock/unlock the doors fully. IIRC, the pump is located on the passenger side below the rear quarter glass. I don't know how to test the pump or gain access to it.

Problem solved
Dear all I solved the problem. If pump goes on after opening or locking central locks, if it takes time to stop pump when you push trunk lock or when you open the trunk this means your pump is about to die. My pump was gone at 190k km 25 years. Only Pump side changed in the unit yesterday. Now locks are very fast, I dont even hear pump’s noise. Trunk opens immediately and then i can close it withoutwaiting. If you have same symptoms and your central locks suddenly stops, refirbish your pump or buy one with good condition. But dont forget that if you buy another one, you need to program it via computer. At least mercedes service manual says so. There are many options on the pump. The one you bought might not have inflatable seat or else
